The Eden Hotel is where meanings and ideas mingle. Phenomena move smoothly from the realm of physics into that of emotions which leave afterimages of recollections of the people we have met and the places we have visited. Split light waves wander across the sands of Morocco, the bomb-damaged city of Kyiv and Italian islands. Bouncing off the western coast of Kiribati, they soon reach the Warszawa Śródmieście Train Station.|

In all those places, they gather information about people, relationships and feelings. They carry the news of births, partings and deaths. Just as we bring home souvenirs from our travels, so Wełnicki collects the experiences and emotions he comes across.

Paired with mathematical calculation, the artist’s deep intuition generates picturesque images: portraits of auras, staircases ascending towards a perilous sky, fears from the ocean depths. Hippocrates’s face sinking in the abyss of the sea foretells a transformation of the state of human condition from material to metaphysical.

By checking into the Eden Hotel we leave the earthly world behind, slacken the order of causes and effects and mathematical resulting. While here, we must open the Narcissus eye that lies dormant deep inside us, intent on seeing as much as possible and experiencing as intensely as it gets.
